Bayern Munich's two new attractions, Italy striker Luca Toni and France midfielder Franck Ribery, will be absent from the club's pre-season trip to Hong Kong. The stars will also miss the start of training at the end of the month to allow them further time to rest, Germany's Kicker magazine reported Thursday quoting co-trainer Michael Henke.
Bayern players report back to training on June 29 and will then almost immediately be on a flight to Hong Kong for a friendly on July 1 against Sao Paulo of Brazil.
But Ribery, who was on international duty with France until June 6, has been told to report for training on July 4, while Toni is being given more time to recuperate following a foot injury.
"It doesn't make a lot a sense for Toni to fly with us and play without any training at all," Henke said.
Ribery, 24, has joined Bayern from Olympique Marseille for a reported 25 million euros (34 million dollars), while the Germans paid 11 million euros to Fiorentina for 30-year-old Toni. |

Apparently Sao Paolo played with a B-team, then again most of Bayern's new signings were still unavailable.
Ohwell, Im eager to see the first match that features all our new stars, probably the LigaPokal game against Bremen somewhere around the 21 of July.
Btw, from the reports I noticed that Sosa didnt play a really outstanding match. I do hope he can grow within the team!! |

| Seems like Altintop is trying to make a case for a place in the first team. He had a good game. |
