It appears the Miro has a torn right shoulder rotator cuff and will not make the DFB Cup first round.

Welcome to the forum, N928J!
Yeah, Klose's injury is unfortunate. Schalke we playing some very rough football out there and it was only a matter of time until one of our players got injured :(

Hitzfeld had additional good news to report: "Miro Klose will probably be fit to train again by Thursday. The same applies to Marcell Jansen, and possibly to José Sosa. We should have far more alternatives towards the end of next week.“

Miroslav Klose has been ruled out of Germany's upcoming Euro 2008 qualifiers against Ireland on October 13 and the Czech Republic four days later after picking up a knee injury in Bayern Munich's weekend victory over Bayer Leverkusen. Bayern coach Ottmar Hitzfeld said Tuesday that the 29-year-old striker will be out of action for "at least three weeks" and will also "definitely miss" Thursday's UEFA Cup tie against Portuguese side Belenenses.

latest news on Klose

Miroslav Klose (shin) should also be fit again soon. “I hope to see him training with the team again next week. That would be perfect,“ Hitzfeld remarked.

Klose is not yet at the stage where he can contemplate running. “Miro still has a touch of fluid around the injured area,“ Hitzfeld explained, although the striker should get the green light to go jogging any day now.
