Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen both hit five goals while English hopes Everton bagged half a dozen as German and English teams advanced in force into the last 16 of the UEFA Cup.

Two-time winners Tottenham Hotspur and Bolton Wanderers made it a 100 percent success for the English contingent, but Spain lost Atletico Madrid and Villareal, leaving only Getafe in the competition... Newkerala.com

PSV Eindhoven, Fiorentina and Sporting Lisbon also advanced to the next two-legged round of Europe's second-tier club competition in March.

Hamburg eased through with a goalless draw at home to FC Zurich after winning the first leg 3-1.
