I read today in Sportbild that Gattuso is one of the players Bayern is looking for the next season, in replace of van Bommel

I think van Bommel is better..

This news has been out for a couple of days. I think it would be terrific if Gattuso joins us. He would definitely make the starting line-up. However it's all a rumour and there's no evidence to it. It's just something the media made up.

Nope.

Bayern admit Gattuso interest

Bayern Munich general manager Uli Hoeness has admitted an interest in signing Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso.

The Bundesliga leaders are believed to be keen to bolster their midfield ahead of next season as they look set for a return to the UEFA Champions League after failing to qualify for Europe's premier club competition this year.

Milan are thought to be planning to overhaul their squad in the summer following a disappointing campaign and it is believed that the Serie A giants would be prepared to listen to offers for Italy international Gattuso.

It has been reported that Gattuso, who has also been linked with a move to Real Madrid, has already agreed a contract with Bayern until 2011.

Hoeness has rubbished that speculation, but confesses Gattuso is a player he covets.

"That isn't true," Hoeness told German reporters when asked whether the 30-year-old had agreed a deal with Bayern. "But Gattuso is an interesting player."

If Gattuso comes, I think he would replace Van Bommel and then what about Borowski?!?

i'd be very suprised if he did come, but if he did then whats wrong with having three very strong central midfielders, it'll only serve to help our european adventure next season, and with the potential for 60 games next season, it's not as though that depth and strength won't help... as long as we keep nurturing the younger players (ie ottl)

I'd rather have Flamini than Gattuso. I could probably learn to like Rino if he did come, (as opposed to despising him for the past few years) but given the age situation in central mid I think Flamini would be a much better acquisition. Plus, he would come for free whereas I'm sure Milan would demand a whole lot for Gattuso, since I doubt Bayern are the only club that's interested.
