Barça Ready To Pull Out Of Hleb Move

Barcelona could be on the verge of giving up on trying to prise Aleksandr Hleb away from Arsenal after seeing all their efforts continusouly be frustrated by the English club.

The Belorussian has made it clear that he is keen to leave the Emirates this summer and the Blaugrana looked to be favourites to secure his services, but the prolonged chase could be called off.

Arsenal are reportedly holding out for €20m and Barça are refusing to go to that amount because they do not feel that the former Stuttgart playmaker is worth that.

Hleb has also not been seen to do enough to help persuade the Gunners to let him go to Camp Nou and the Catalan outfit may well take their search elsewhere.

Talks are scheduled to continue in London between Arsenal and Barça's sporting vice-president Marc Ingla, but if there is no deal reached this time then that will be the end of the saga.

Bayern Munich were said to have made their interest known and that may have led to Arsenal hoping to start an auction between the club only for Hleb to state he did not want to move to the Allianz Arena.

Inter were originally favourites to land him, but the arrival of José Mourinho put a stop to that with the Portuguese coach targeting other players to bolster his squad.

If the move for Hleb fails to produce a deal, then Barcelona will place their hopes in Brazil's rising star Anderson Hernanes or make a move for Portugal's Moutinho.

€20m? I'm not suprised. Hleb is worth no more than 12m or 15m. Bayern will be suckers if they pay €20m for Arsenal. :P

i would pay 20 million euros for Hleb. Hes a very good wing player. Ribery and Hleb on the wings would be very impressive. Barca have said they are in talks with arsenal over Hleb. Looks like he will go to them.

Bayern are a club, where we are willing to pay the 24 million Euros to get the player. I say give them the money and get Hleb, we need him on the right side of midfield.

Yeah, personally I think 24 mil is a little much for Hleb, but on the other hand we only need one or two more signings this summer, so I guess I don't mind overpaying for one that will definitely improve our midfield. Hopefully it's just a matter of time.

Do we really need Hleb?

-Don't think so. With Schweini, Sosa, Altintop we have enough good wingers. I didn't even mention Borowski...

Is Hleb worth the 24 million price?

- No. He is a wonderful player but not a real superstar. He cannot lead his team like the true great ones. (Messi, Ribery, Kaka....)

What Bayern needs the most?

- Bayern should sign a central midfielder with the virtue of having strong defensive qualities and an intelligent offensive mind, a la Michael Ballack. Someone with the ability to lead his teammates and set up the attack from the midfield. With 24 million euro we only need to schoose one.

i dont think so......i think bayern has a lot of players in that positition......and they are good players.......i think we are lacking from someone who has great creativity skills......like hleb.........we dont need superman, because we are not in the same situation that we had last year...........but we need some creativity.................so i think it is necessary to buy hleb........he is a wonderful player..........next season schweini could play as a playmaker.......hleb in the right.............ribery in the left..........and van bomel in the middle backing schweini..........and ze roberto could play if some of them are injured..!!!!!------BAYERN CHAMPIONS OF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE!!!

Who exactly? Van Bommel? Borowski? Kroos? That's not enough good if you want to win the CL giants.

It's not official yet (I'm sure it will be very soon). What is official is that Nasri has signed for Arsenal as a replacement for Hleb.
