I have a feeling that Manchester United will make a bid for Milan's Gattuso. Gattuso has always said that he would like to play in England before he retires. Well, he's 29 years old now... and Manchester United are crying for a guy like him.

Exactly!!!! and he would be cheaper than Owen. I think we should accept if the bid is anywhere around £18m...
It's pretty clear that he doesn't wanna play for us.. So, whats the point in hanging on to him?

Yeah, I want Owen out to be honest. I think it would be a bit tragic if he ended up staying, after all that's gone on and been said.

I have The Sun on my lap right now. The huge headline is "Bye Buy Bayern," but its the Sun so let's hope there's little truth to it. Bayern should accept United's offer. Time to move on I say.

First off, there is nothing wrong with Owen staying. The same goes for selling him, it's win situation in both cases.

But why does the yellow press get the buzz? Did really no one look for some serious sources? Like the today's London Times? Laughing

The Times says that 'negotiations between Man Utd and Bayern are understood to have progressed well over the past few days' and an agreement should be reached ' with a view to completing the transfer on July 1.

25 million Euros? Wowee!! Man. United must really want this guy if they are willing to hand over that kind of money. Plus, Bayern might get a bonus due to his performance. If that is true then he better not play horrendously because Bayern can use that extra money to buy better players the following year.

I had hoped for more money. We'll basically get less than what Tottenham got for Carrick. And we all know that Hargreaves is England's best player Cool

G-Owen To United
Manchester United have agreed a deal to sign Owen Hargreaves from Bayern Munich. The Premiership champions will pay a basic £18million for the Canadian-born midfielder, plus additional sums based upon any trophies United win. Bayern have had their worst season in recent memory, finishing in fourth place in the German Bundesliga. And they now need to bring in funds for a major squad overhaul.

Bayern Munich president Franz Beckenbauer has announced that they have reached a transfer agreement with Manchester United for Owen Hargreaves.

"Owen is leaving," Beckenbauer told Germany's DSF sports television network. "That was the player's wish. It's a good match and it's also a good deal financially."

Beckenbauer would not directly confirm reports that the fee has been agreed at 25 million euros (£17 million) but did say: "It's in that range."

United have been in protracted negotiations for the England midfielder all season but Bayern have seemed reluctant to sell.

The 26-year-old, who has been with Bayern for 10 years, is expected to sign a four-year contract with the newly crowned Premiership champions.

Now lets stop discussing about Mr. Hargreaves....Razz

and to top that...

Robben set for Bayern as United sign Hargreaves

Arjen Robben will leave Chelsea and move to Bayern Munich as soon as the German club finalise the sale of Owen Hargreaves to Manchester United

The England midfielder will be sold for around £18million and Bayern will immediately invest in the Dutch winger, who is thought to have a difficult relationship with manager Jose Mourinho. Bayern have already signed Italy striker Luca Toni from Fiorentina and are keen on Werder Bremen's Miroslav Klose, but their star newcomers will be playing in the Uefa Cup rather than the Champions league next season. Bayern finished fourth in the Bundesliga, which was won yesterday by Stuttgart, who beat Cottbus in the final game to finish two points clear of second-place Schalke.

I'll only be happy about selling Owen if we indeed end up getting Robben (or an equivalent player). We already have too many CDM: Demichelis, Ottl, Altintop and even Van Bommel who plays mostly CM for Bayern but is equally suitable to play CDM. I hope they start announcing soon who are the big players we're getting (I know we have Toni), otherwise I don't see how the team has benefitted with the official signings reported already considering Salihadmidzic, Scholl, and Hargreaves are leaving (and possible Pizarro)...
